The Vandiver Inn isn't a traditional hotel, and it isn't a bed and breakfast either--so what are we? We are a boutique hotel (and event space) located in the heart of Historic Havre de Grace. Because the Vandiver Mansion is over 130 years old (and full of history--just ask any of our Inn Keepers) no two of our rooms are alike. Each of our beautiful guest rooms have their own unique charm and vibe--and some may be suited more to different kinds of travelers than others. In the Vandiver Mansion:
The O'Neill, First Floor, Vandiver Mansion
The only first-floor room inside the Vandiver Mansion itself. Accessible via our rear ramp in addition to our other entrances. The O'Neill Room features a huge walk-in shower, a king bed, a sofa, an eco-fireplace, and a porch with views of our garden and easy access to our fire-pits area.
The O'Neill room is pet-friendly for small dogs below 40lbs--please call us at 410-939-5200 for information on our pet policy. Additional fees apply.

The Rodgers, Second Floor, Vandiver Mansion
The Flagship room of the Vandiver Inn and commonly used as one of our Bridal suites, the Rodgers room is expansive, with a huge bathroom complete with a soaking tub and walk-in shower, a king-sized bed with a memory foam topper, a shared semi-private porch overlooking the Gardens, and an eco-fireplace to get cozy on cold winter nights.
The Rodgers room includes a microwave, coffee maker, and mini-fridge.

The Tydings, Second Floor, Vandiver Mansion
The Tydings is another expansive, historic room in the Vandiver mansion, complete with a huge mantle and eco-fireplace, mini fridge, and a 4-poster king bed--plus a fun and quirky pink bathroom.
The Tydings has the ability to be combined with the Fair room, creating a two-bedroom, two bathroom suite for the whole family.

The Fair, Second Floor, Vandiver Mansion
The Fair is another great room you can find upstairs in the Vandiver Mansion, featuring tons of space and natural light, a four-poster queen bed, and a sleeping porch (separated by its own door) with an additional daybed/trundle combo.
The Fair room can also be combined with Tydings to create a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite.

The Wolbert, Second Floor, Vandiver Mansion
Rounding out the rooms within the Vandiver mansion itself is our Wolbert room. The Wolbert is expansive with fantastic natural light, an eco-fireplace, king bed, and has a beautiful bathroom with a huge walk-in shower.

In the Kent House:
The Vandiver, First Floor, Kent House
On the first floor of the Kent House--right next door to the Vandiver Mansion--you'll find our Vandiver room, a couple's favorite!
The Vandiver features first-floor access, an eco-fireplace, a large jetted tub, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, a comfortable king bed, and it even has shared-porch access, with seating overlooking Historic Havre de Grace's Union Avenue.

The Cockburn, First Floor, Kent House
On the first floor of the Kent House, the Cockburn has plenty of space and features porch-access to a semi-private porch overlooking the Gazebo area, a king bed, tub and shower, mini fridge and microwave, and has its own coffee maker. With its additional daybed/trundle combo and private entrance, the Cockburn is a staff-favorite

The Young, First Floor, Kent House
In the rear of the Kent House, you'll find our cute and cozy Young room. The Young has its own private entrance to outside and includes a king bed, jetted tub, microwave, and mini fridge.

The John Henry, Second Floor, Kent House
The John Henry is an expansive one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen--fully stocked with dishware and cookware, king bed, and TONS of space! This room does not have the same Victorian vibe as our other rooms, but is great for families, bridal parties getting ready, and extended stays.
Combine the John Henry room with the Jack room to create a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment!

The Jack, Second Floor, Kent House
In the upstairs of the Kent House you will find the cute and cozy Jack room--whose namesake is actually the owners' son. This room features a king bed, mini fridge, coffee maker, and walk-in shower.
The Jack can be combined with the John Henry to create a 2-bedroom/2-bathroom apartment suite.

In the Murphy House:
The Meigs, First Floor, Murphy House
Another staff-favorite, the Meigs is an expansive room in our Murphy House--right next door to the Kent House and Vandiver Mansion. The Meigs is the perfect suite for those wanting more privacy and seclusion, or as a bridal suite.
The Meigs features a private entrance, private backyard, king bed, beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower and soaking tub, mini fridge and microwave, sleeper sofa, and plenty of workspace if your stay is for work instead of play.

The Murphy, Second Floor, Murphy House
In the upstairs of the Murphy House, you will find its namesake room. The Murphy features a large king bedroom, with an additional work/sleeping area that has a daybed/trundle combo. The Murphy also includes a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker.
Combine the Murphy with the Donahoo to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite for families and larger groups.

The Donahoo, Second Floor, Murphy House
Next door to the Murphy room is our cozy Donahoo room, featuring a queen bed, its own coffee maker, and plenty of natural light. This room is perfect for a night or two!
Combine the Donahoo with the Murphy to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite for families and larger groups.

The Lafayette, First Floor, Murphy House
The Lafayette has plenty of space for your needs--complete with a large king bedroom, daybed, and an eco-fireplace to unwind in front of at the end of the day. This room also includes a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.
Combine the Lafayette with the Stockett across the hall to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite for families and larger groups.
Please Note: A portion of the Lafayette is slightly elevated, making this room not ideal for those with accessibility needs or mobility/balance concerns.

The Stockett, First Floor, Murphy House
The Stockett is the last of our cute and cozy rooms, located in the Murphy House. It's great for a night or two, or for families needing a second room. The Stockett has a queen bed and its own coffee maker.
Combine the Stockett with the Lafayette across the hall to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite for families and larger groups.

From the moment we arrived, it was obvious that the owners took pride in their Inn. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and had the most comfortable bed I can remember. There was always something to snack on available and the breakfast was cooked to order. The owners were very friendly and gave my wife and I a little history lesson of the town and helped with what to do, restaurants etc. The room rates are also outstanding. This is exactly the kind of place we like to stay in. A beautiful Victorian home with adjacent houses. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Location was great, quiet street with lots of free parking and a short nice walk to waterfront. Breakfast was a bonus plus 24 hour access to grab n go snacks/coffee etc. A huge comfy king bed plus a trundle bed in adjoining room for our grandson! Would recommend!

Lodging at the Vandiver
SELF CHECK-IN: To check-in to the Vandiver, our innkeepers will make you a packet with your name on it that will include your room keys, as well as a print out containing all the information you will need for your stay, including directions to your room, how to contact an innkeeper, and the most up-to-date information about the inn and your stay with us. Your packet will be located at the front door of the Vandiver Mansion-- 301 S. Union Street. If you are in a hurry, or wish to social distance, you are welcome to head straight to your room. Otherwise, come inside and say 'Hi' to one of our inn keepers, who'd be happy to assist you.
Packets may be held at the front desk if we are missing information from you. Reminder texts and confirmation emails will also remind you of this quick and easy way to check-in.
BREAKFAST: Grab'n Go Breakfast will be available 6:30AM - 8:00AM daily upon request, HOT ENTREE Breakfast will be available 8:30AM-10:30AM daily.
