COVID-19 STATEMENT TO VANDIVER’S BELOVED CUSTOMERS

 

Friends,

 

We are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments. The well-being of our guests and associates is of paramount importance.

  

To minimize guest and staff contact and create as safe an environment as possible, we are taking the following steps to help reduce COVID-19 exposure: 

SELF CHECK-IN:  To check-in to the Vandiver, a packet with your name on it will be located to the right of the front door of the Vandiver Mansion.  The packet will contain VERY detailed directions to your room, your room keys and of course our 24-Hr Customer Service Number.  We will not be far away, but minimizing contact is in everybody's interest during these trying times.  The Vandiver Mansion is located at 301 South Union Street, Havre de Grace, MD 20178.

​GRAB 'N GO BREAKFAST:  Breakfast will be available in the Dining Room all day for your convenience.  Breakfast will feature a variety of pre-packaged items including breakfast sandwiches, granola, juices, energy bars, juices, milk and yogurt.   You will also be supplied with a list of local restaurants that deliver or feature take-out.  

 

ENHANCED ALREADY VIGOROUS CLEANING & SANITIZING: We are reassessing what we can do here at the Inn to minimize any potential transmission points.  We have already increased our deep cleaning of guest rooms and are wiping down all hard surfaces and door knobs with sanitizer as much as possible.  We have sanitizer available at our front desk and each of our public restrooms. We are working on getting in enough supply to have hand sanitizer available in each room.  Staff is instructed to wear gloves when handling cash.

 

DON'T FEEL WELL? - STAY HOME, NO PENALTIES: We need to ask our friends and lodging guests to also please stay home if they feel sick.  We will have no cancellation penalties on lodging due to illness or inability to travel due to the virus.  If you begin to feel sick in the midst of your stay, please contact us immediately, so that we can put together a plan to limit exposure immediately.  If you are scheduled to come to an event at the Inn (parties, weddings, fundraisers, etc), please stay home if you feel sick.  

PUBLIC DINING CANCELED:  We have made the hard decision to cancel all Monday Night Supper Clubs, but hope to return as early as April 20, 2020 with our popular THAI menu.   If you have purchased a ticket online to one of the upcoming dinners, please contact us to receive your choice of a refund or a gift certificate for a future dinner.
